Bright Sparks Pre School is a non-profit day care for children ages 2-4 based in Great Preston, Leeds. We run our services throughout the day, including a Breakfast Club and an After School session for those who usually work late.

Bright Sparks Pre-School is situated in purpose-built premises in the grounds of Great Preston C of E School in West Yorkshire. There are enclosed outdoor areas and the children regularly go out on local outings, for example, to the church, to the woods for nature walks and visits to the library. The pre-school opens from 7.30am until 6pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. Children attend for a variety of sessions and the pre-school is flexible to your needs. The pre-school provides funded early education for two, three and four year old children. Support is provided for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and children who speak English as an additional language.

The pre-school employs a team of seven childcare staff who work directly with the children and in addition, a cleaner. The manager holds an Early Years Foundation Degree and the deputy manager is a Level 3 Nursery Nurse. The pre-school is regulated by Ofsted. We have an open door policy and therefore you do not need to make an appointment to visit us to have a look around. We will always have a member of the management team available to give you a guided tour.

What ages do you care for?

We care for children aged 2 to 4, from age 2 up to the start of school. The pre-school provides funded early education for two, three and four year old children.

Where is Bright Sparks Pre School?

We are in purpose-built premises in the grounds of Great Preston C of E School, Preston Lane, Great Preston, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS26 8AR.

What are your opening hours?

We are open Monday to Thursday from 7.30am to 6pm and Friday from 7.30am to 4.30pm, term time only. Pre-school sessions run 8.45am to 11.45am and 12.15pm to 3.15pm, or 8.45am to 3.15pm.

How much are your fees?

Fees are £20 per half session or £43 for a full day. We also run a session of 9.00am to 3.00pm for £40. Lunch cover is £3.

Do you run a Breakfast Club and After School Club?

Yes. Breakfast Club starts at 7.30am and costs £7 from 7:30am or £5 from 8:00am. After School Club runs from 3.15pm until 6pm and costs £7.50 until 4:30pm or £13 until 6:00pm.

What is your Ofsted rating?

Bright Sparks Pre School was rated Good by Ofsted at our latest inspection on 14th June 2024.

Is Bright Sparks a pre school or a nursery?

We are a pre school, not a nursery. This means we have a high ratio of staff to children: 1 adult to 4 children for 2 to 3 year olds and 1 adult to 8 children for 3 to 4 year olds. We are a committee run, registered charity and non-profit making organisation.

Do you support children with SEND?

Yes. Support is provided for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and children who speak English as an additional language.

Do I need an appointment to visit?

No. We have an open door policy, so you do not need to make an appointment to have a look around. A member of the management team will always be available to give you a guided tour.
